Spotlight on Alexandra Bee

Designed with the high-powered, multi-tasking, working-woman in mind, Alexandra Bee unveils Sophia. Available in both canvas and leather, the bag is weightless - so when you throw in your gym shoes, your keys, your wallet, your book for lunch, your mail, etc - you don't have to worry about lugging the 5 extra pounds that is your usual leather carryall. At first glance, you see simplicity. There are no fancy tassels or grommets to distract the eye but one glance inside and you see that the interior is built to organize. There's a compartment for everything you need to keep separated. As much as I love big bags, I admit that I do make it a point to complain each time I'm rummaging through my bag looking for my ID or lipgloss.

The Sophia comes in two sizes, has nine designer fabrics to choose from, and features....
  • Fully lined, water-resistant interior
  • 2 large interior pockets
  • Large interior pockets
  • Large zippered pocket to keep personal items safe
  • 2 more interior pockets for miscellaneous items
  • 3 leather easy-access pen holders
  • 2 large exterior pockets

Since Alexandra Bee is just launching in the US, her styles are only available online at this time. For more information , visit Alexandra Bee.

Something to keep your eye out for in the coming months. :)

Sites I Adore

I wish I had more time for fashion. Need the day job to pay the bills. Afterall, the green helps to satisfy my hunger for shoes and such. Girls have needs, albeit maybe not as superficial as mine when it comes to material goods. I am what I am. These days, I find myself scrambling for time. My Vogue and Us Weekly are doing a pretty good job of decorating the floor, the pages crisp and perfectly unflipped. The 9-5 is just taking over. What I need is a 24 hour fashion news feed wired directly to my brain because god knows, I want to know and I miss knowing.

So when you have so little time and the web is just competing for your attention, where do you go for the scoop?

Here are some of my personal favorites:

Madonna for H&M

The M by Madonna line for H&M was set to debut March 2007 all around the world. In stores, Thursday, March 22nd – I made a trip to Old Town in Pasadena to take a peek that very Saturday. The style of the collection is classy & sophisticated with primarily black and white donning both casual and dressy pieces. While you get the look of Madonna, I wasn't entirely impressed with the feel. The material of the dresses was sub par and to be brutally honest, it felt like something I could buy for $20 on Melrose. But in all fairness, I could only stand being in the store for about 15 minutes before I wanted to escape the masses.

It also wasn't long before my eyes were stuck to something cute. I saw black and I saw patent all over a long leather clutch and soon after, I was carrying it out the store. I'd be searching far and wide for a cute clutch to hold my evening essentials. The clutch also comes in white patent and is part of the M by Madonna line and there's no indication of brand until you look inside. I love so much!

To check out the collection online, visit H&M online!

Voom by Joy Han

I finally made it to the Voom boutique on Melrose this past weekend and fell in love so many times. One piece that particularly struck my heart was Voom's cap sleeved trench coat - not just because Eva Longoria looks hot in it but because it's utterly adorable on it's own. It's atypical of Joy Han's usual line of printed silk frocks - which in my mind is like signature Voom but I am happy to see her line get more flavorful - more creativity to love and admire.

You can find the cap sleeved trench coat on Harmony Lane or Shop Intuition.

My other Voom favorites? Definitely the kimono and tube dress. Katherine Heigl modeled, quite beautifully, on the red carpet the kimono dress back in September for Janet Jackson's cd launch party at Tao.

Floral Arrangement

[above: T-Bags chain belt off the shoulder dress, $212]

How better to celebrate Spring than color. Dress yourself with patterned frocks, vibrant with color. Just picture splashes of hotpink, speckles of yellow, shapes of orange, and weaves of green decorating tops, mini-dresses, and accessories. It is quite the bright idea.

[above and center: Milly Halter Top,$325]

From Left to Right...
Tocca - wrap dot top, $230
Mara Hoffman -butterfly sleeve silk jersey mini, $300
Kenneth Jay Lane - Flower Pearl Ring, $115
Missoni - platform sandels, $595

And lastly, no print collection is complete without Diane. above, [above: DVF Abel, $345]

In Love...with Chanel, that is.

And so fitting that love is red. We have classic, quilted, chain, and big - all the ingredients of a steamy relationship. I like the original size but as the mantra goes, bigger is better. Isn't that right?

Dove SkinVitalizer

Face on. Face off.

Is it that simple? Even if it is, there are always excuses to make things easier. Like for example, skincare brushes designed to cleanse and exfoliate your face.

I thought about getting the Clarisonic skincare brush but opted to buy shoes instead. In my mind, cotton pads, cleansing milk and a bit of committment and technique work just as well.

But for $14.99 (compared to the $200 for the Clarisonic brush), the Dove SkinVitalizer is worth a try. I've been testing it for a week and so far so good. The cleansing pillows easily attach with the help of some velcro action - the textured side for gentle exfoliation and the other for a lathered face wash. After a rinse, it leaves your skin feeling surprisingly soft.

Since the SkinVitalizer is waterproof, you can take it with you in the shower. A click of a button turns on a massaging sensation. The combination of a gentle vibration, along with a tool that facilitates motion and a cleansing formula that removes makeup and grit - just screams easy.

Let's face it. Not all of us follow the perfect cleansing regimen. Exfoliating 2 to 3 times a week always turns into exfoliating when you remember. But day to day upkeep would help us less-than-perfect folk maintain good skin - not to say that you should use a cleansing brush exclusively, but daily gentle exfoliation goes a long way in invigorating your skin.

So for $14.99 you get the SkinVitalizer and 6 cleansing pillows. For $4.49, you can get a refill of 14.

I have to say, it was a blessing on Saturday after a night in Hollywood - you know, the part of the night when it's all about "face off."

I Love Rachel Pally

Every season I tell myself that I can't fill my closet with any more Rachel Pally but every season surpasses the next - so how can I help myself? I am a basics girl. I like pieces that I can swap and mix easily from one outfit to the next. I remember the time when I used to buy over-the -top but just absolutely gorgeous pieces thinking I would wear it more than two times. The novelty wears off quickly and suddenly, it no longer gives you the same "new" feeling as it use to. If you do the math - $300 top with 2 wears = $150/wear. Yikes! Quite frankly, I would be needing to make more money to enjoy that luxury. The only exception is shoes. ;)

Oh, but Rachel's stuff is great. The fabric is so soft against your skin and so fluid on your body. Since her debut, each subsequent season has encompassed more detail and creativity - whether it be pintucks, buttons, or folds. Still has the same look and feel of Rachel Pally but with more pizazz.

To share some of my favorites from Rachel Pally's Spring line....

Top, from left to right:
  • Back Cowl Tee
  • Buttoned Baby Doll
  • Gathered Mini
  • Pin Tuck Mini

Tory Burch Ali's

Speaking of warm weather shoes, how cute are these? My girl friends are seriously the devils on my shoulder. Every minute I get links to check out the cute stuff they come across. I love going into new seasons - so many pretty things to look at!

You can find the patent Ali thong sandals here. At $195, they're the same price as the Tory Burch Revas! And also like the Revas, they come in various colors. In patent, you can get them in either white or black. In metallics -- silver and gold.
